BROOKLANDS ATMOSPHERE: The two words are synonymous with one another. Irrespective of the marvellous cars, motorcycles and aircraft, it is the Entrants, Competitors and Staff that take Brooklands to another level. The friendliness and desire to 'look the part' is all great stuff. Brooklands, a low pressure enjoyable place to be.

THE BROOKLANDS CIRCUIT: The circuit was opened on the 17th June 1907, and therefore it can claim to be the oldest banked motor racing circuit in the world, preceding the Indianapolis Speedway by two years. Given the year, 1907, the original circuit construction and dimensional data is significant being some thirty metres wide and nearly 4.5km long. The circuit's surface is concrete which has deteriorated over time.

Incredibly only eleven days after the circuit was opened a twenty four hour race was held, railway lanterns and flares were used as night lighting.

THE FUNNY BITS: Chris Williams, an absolute card, for mine he was the absolute star of the Double 12 of 2011. Definitely a technically gifted man and yet very accomplished at having a great time with the spectators, excellent Chris, just keep Andy and Duncan under control!

HEH CHRIS, WATCH WHERE YOU ARE GOING!

INTELLIGENT DRIVER

HELLO, THAT WAS MONTHS AGO!

FOLLOW ME TO BROOKLANDS: No problem, a wonderful place to visit. I particularly wish to finish my coverage of Brooklands Double 12 of 2011 by singling out the Staff and Facilities at Brooklands, nothing appeared to be too much trouble, in fact I was able to use the Members Bar area to download images etc., and I was offered refreshments for my trouble, such a welcome change when compared to the typical and unwarranted over zealous Security at certain Formula One and MotoGP events.

I particularly have to thank Sue in the Main Entrance Building for her assistance with my ticketing and a simple hello so many hours later during my photography expeditions around Brooklands, excellent PR Sue, thankyou.

NO PROBLEM

THANKYOU
