TEXAS: They do things differently in Texas and I like it! A great State, from the bustling City of Houston to the coastal beauty of Galveston and then a massive contrast in San Antonio and the Alamo, a magnetic attraction.

Please click on the heading or associated image to be taken to the dedicated page covering the City or Tourist attraction.....

CROCKETT:

Named to honour David Crockett, Davy was recorded as having passed through the area now known as Crockett on his way to the Alamo.

THE ALAMO, SAN ANTONIO:

The Alamo, completed in 1718 as the 'Mission San Antonio De Valero' the Alamo was one of five Missions built along the shores of the San Antonio River. The Alamo commemorates the valiant efforts of Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, Colonel Travis and 186 volunteers who sacrificed their lives in the struggle to achieve Texas' independence.

WACO:

Waco is centrally located between Austin and Dallas, Texas. The city was founded in 1849 by the Huaco Indians, a tribe that inhabited the area of the modern downtown Waco and the city is located at the Brazos River.

Waco was the birthplace of the Dr Pepper and major tourist attractions include the Waco Suspension Bridge, the Washington Avenue Bridge, Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

THE TEXAS RANGER HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM, WACO:

The Museum contains a wide range of armament, photos and statues commemorating the sometimes colourful history of the Texas Rangers.
