The 'GREEN' TT Zero Race:
The third year of ZEV racing witnessed a considerable increase in
spectator numbers, thankfully there were a reasonable amount of spectators in
the Grandstand to witness the race, unlike that of 2010. Once again the TT
Zero event suffered due to a number of circumstances which included unsettling
relations between the TT Organisers, TTXGP and the FIM, the very LAST THING
Electric Racing needs.
THE START: A total of nine (9) entrants, one more than
2010, greeted the
starter's flag compared to the program listing
of eighteen. No fanfare, no grid girls and almost NO NOISE!

THE 'FORM FINISH' AND ROSTRUM: The #2: Segway MotoCzysz
motorcycle ridden by Michael Rutter won the race
with a standing start lap time of 22 minutes 43.68 seconds, (nearly a minute
quicker than the Czysz Team winning lap of 23 minutes 22.89 seconds set in
2010), from the #1: Segway MotoCzysz motorcycle ridden by Mark Miller
(23 minutes 01.93 seconds) and third the #10: Kingston University motorcycle
ridden by George Spence (25 minutes 35.90 seconds).
The winners lap time of 22 minutes 43.68 seconds equated to a
race average speed of 99.604 miles per hour, the Segway MotoCzysz team just
missed out breaking the 100 miles per hour average speed and the generous UK
10,000.00 pounds prize money on offer to the first ZEV race team to break the
100mph average race time.
