WSBK 2011 RACE 2:
Carlos Checa's convincing win in Race 1 sent a clear
message to his opponents that the Ducati was still a force to be reckoned with
regardless of no direct factory support throughout 2011. Leon Haslam had
the early running in Race 2, getting a great start and holding first place for a
short while only to fade back to 5th place at the end of the race.

RACE 2 - CHEQUERED FLAG AND ROSTRUM:
Carlos Checa and the Althea Ducati made a dream start to their
2011 campaign taking the double at Phillip Island. Carlos finished just
over a second in front of Max Biaggi and third place went to Marco Melandri. The
ride of the day had to be Jonathan Rea, finishing fourth, this after significant
cuts and bruising, including gravel rash to his face, from practice
crashes earlier in the week.
