WSBK 2011 RACES: Phillip Island once again staged two highly competitive races to start the WSBK Championship for 2011. Given that the official works entries from Ducati are no longer competing, the observer might discount their performance, someone forgot to tell Carlos Checa however, the #7: Althea Racing Ducati team won both races convincingly.

THE 21st ANNIVERSARY & WSBK GRID GIRLS: Phillip Island celebrated the 21st anniversary of the World Superbike Championship at the circuit, the 'hand written' note at the base of the cake reads: 'FIM Superbike World Championship 1990-2011 Phillip Island Circuit, Australia'.
