USS Texas BB35

THE USS TEXAS, (BB35) BATTLESHIP, La PORTE, TEXAS: The last and the oldest Battleship afloat, 'BB35' served in both World Wars. She was saved by the people of Texas following a risk of destruction as a bombing target. In 1948 she was towed into position at the San Jacinto Battleground Site for public display.

'BB35' ARMAMENT, 1945: The bottom line for any Battleship, by 1945 the Texas had plenty, including:

	MAIN BATTERY: 10 x 14" / 45 calibre guns in a total of five turrets, range 13 miles, projectiles data: 1,500 pounds each (armour piercing) and 1,275 pounds each (high explosive), full broadside 15,000 pounds (armour piercing), rate of fire: one round every 45 seconds, total turret crew complement: 70~110 persons.
	SECONDARY BATTERY: 6 x 5" / 51 calibre guns.
	ANTI AIRCRAFT: 10 x 3" / 50 calibre guns, 10 x 40mm four-gun (quad) mounts. and 44 x 20mm guns.

MAIN BATTERY: FRONT TURRETS 1 AND 2: 14" / 45 CALIBRE GUNS


	ANTI AIRCRAFT: 40mm FOUR-GUN (QUAD) MOUNT
