1920: HUCKS AIRCRAFT ENGINE STARTER: B.C.Hucks is credited with the invention of this aircraft engine starter, the design is based on a Model T Ford Chassis with an engine driven chain drive to an overhead rotating shaft, the end of which incorporated a claw bar to engage with the a dog fixed to the aircraft's propeller. The Hucks Starter was used by the RAF from 1920~1930's, subsequently various more modern engine starting methods were employed. The vehicle is classified as mobile ground equipment on a Ford Model T Chassis, Aero Engine Starter, powered by a Ford 2,892cc four cylinder engine with a maximum speed of 45mph.
