Porsche's 60th anniversary in Australia was celebrated at Phillip Island, Porsche
brought a selection of their
sports cars spanning six decades to the event. The most notable Porsche was
the 935/78 'Moby Dick', the nickname relates to the cars giant extended
'whale tail'. More celebrations included the 40th anniversary of the Ford
Falcon XY GTHO and the 50th anniversary of the E-type Jaguar.
There was plenty of 'on track' racing with a
substantial race program spread over two full days of non stop competition.

HISTORIC FORMULA
FORD:
I expected close racing in this category and wasn't
disappointed. The category actually caters for Group Fa (formerly Group Q)
and Fb (formerly Group R), 1969~1983.

REGULARITY:
Probably my favourite race category at classic car racing
events, a wide variety of machinery 'contest' the event with famous marques
including Porsche, Talbot Lago, Bugatti, Jaguar, Lancia and Maserati
carefully negotiating the circuit.
