V8 SUPERCARS -
2013
Coverage of Australia's
premier Motorsport Series. The 2013 Series witnessed a wide range of updated
cars known as the 'Car of the Future' (COTF) and critically the inclusion of
Mercedes Benz and Nissan campaigning against the Holden and Ford stalwarts.
The

PI
ISLAND CLASSIC - March 2013:
Phillip Island turned on four days of action,
Historic Cars were entered in eighteen (18) different categories of racing
from Regularity to Formula 5000! Porsche once again heavily supported the
Event with cars 'displayed, paraded and raced', from the Porsche Museum,
Stuttgart.
The

CIK STARS OF
KARTING - Feb. 2013:
The 1st round of
the CIK Stars of Karting Series, presented by Castrol EDGE was held at the
Ipswich Kart Club, Willowbank, Queensland. A
variety of classes were in the program including three elite categories, Pro Light (KF1), Pro
Gearbox (KF2) and Pro Junior (KF3).
The 'clickable'

GEELONG REVIVAL
- December 2012:
The inaugural
Geelong Revival of 2012 captured the magic of the original Geelong Sprints
and Speed Trials. A wide variety of cars and motorcycles competed and there
was a huge static display of vehicles and memorabilia surrounding the main
event.

TASMAN
REVIVAL - November 2012:
The
fourth running of the Tasman Revival and the 50th Anniversary
of the Australian Formula Junior Series. The biennial Event celebrates the
Tasman Series of the 1960's and 1970's. The original Series included races
in Australia and New Zealand.
The

LAKESIDE
CLASSIC - July 2012:
A Festival of Touring Cars including Group A, Group C, Group
N, Trans Am, HQ Holden's and a Regularity Class.
Shannons Insurance sponsored a Show and Shine celebrating
Ford V8's.
The

demonstration laps of the Lakeside circuit.

CIK STARS OF
KARTING - June 2012:
The 3rd round of
the CIK Stars of Karting Series, presented by Castrol EDGE was held at the

ISLAND CLASSIC - March 2011:
Porsche's 60th anniversary in Australia was celebrated at Phillip Island, Porsche
brought a selection of their
sports cars spanning six decades to the event. The most notable Porsche was
the 935/78 'Moby Dick', the nickname relates to the cars giant extended
'whale tail'.
More celebrations included the 40th anniversary of the Ford
Falcon XY GTHO and the 50th anniversary of the Jaguar E-type.

TASMAN
REVIVAL - November 2010:
The third anniversary of the Tasman Revival at Eastern Creek,
Sydney offered a vast range of cars on display and competing. Of particular note
was the 'Legends Parade' headed by the patron of the meeting, Sir Jack Brabham
AO OBE.

SPEED
ON TWEED - September 2010:
In 2010 the
event was sponsored by 'Southcoast Automotive' it specifically highlighted 'Australian Specials Racing Cars', built
in Australia after World War 2, when British and European sourced race cars
were in short supply.
The highlight of my attendance this year,
unquestionably meeting Sir Jack Brabham AO, OBE.

SPEED
ON TWEED - September 2008:
Speed on Tweed had been run very successfully
for many years, of course I never bothered to attend until I heard the 2008
event was to be the last, no way.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience stretching
over some three days with so many beautiful cars, legends of Australian and New
Zealand Motor Sport in attendance, just great!
