The International Challenge was contested over four separate
races and Suzuki XR69's in the hands of Ryan Farquhar, Jeremy McWilliams and
Cam Donald featured prominently. Jeremy McWilliams won the individual
rider's championship from Cam Donald, the overall Team prize once again went to
Australia.
The individual rider's results could
have been very different, the
Historic lap record holder Steve
Martin won three of the four races on a Suzuki Katana, unfortunately the
Katana suffered an engine failure during Saturday's race 2. An engine rebuild
overnight and early Sunday allowed Steve to maintain his win ratio albeit
denying him the overall individual rider's championship. During the final 8 lap race
on sunday afternoon Steve demolished his outright Historic lap record, setting
a new record on lap 3 of 1 minute 38.964 seconds.
My coverage of the event
includes selected images from the pits and race images. I have identified the team represented by each rider as
follows: (AU) Australia, (UK) United Kingdom and (VIC/W13 or NZ) Anzacs/World
13, (the VIC represents the rider's home state of Australia, in this example
Victoria, as applicable.

FOOTNOTE:
Steve Martin won three out of the four International Challenge
races. It wasn't all good news though, an engine failure during Saturday
afternoon's race forced a rebuild that carried over into Sunday morning, then
there was the matter of the broken tacho needle at the end of race 4!
