I have recorded numerous images of the awards and images of some of the many riders I had the pleasure of meeting, including Graeme Crosby, Barry Smith and some of the stars of the Island Classic at the signature desk, strategically located in Croz's book sales outlet!
INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE PRESENTATION OF AWARDS: The presentations to the winning country and individual riders were held directly after the event at the Phillip Island circuit. AUSTRALIA: The 2011 International Challenge marked the seventh consecutive running of the series and Australia has maintained an unblemished team prize winning record. In 2011 the overall team points awarded were, Australia: 1154.6 points, United Kingdom: 807.7 points and Anzacs/World 13: 706.3 points.
UNITED KINGDOM: The United Kingdom team won the overall individual rider points with Jeremy McWilliams winning on 152 points from Cam Donald (AU) 150 points and Michael Dibb (AU) 138 points. Jeremy was presented with an 'aussie' team hat for his efforts!
ANZACS/WORLD 13: The Anzacs/World 13 was actually 'Team New Zealand' with rider numbers bolstered by Barry Ditchburn and numerous other riders from Australia and France.
CROZ, BARRY, AND THE INTERNATIONAL CLASSIC STARS: All the guys were so approachable, a great weekend, celebrating a marvellous era of motorcycle sport. I was delighted to meet Robbie and Mal again and a famous aussie rider returning to the sport to try his hand at historic racing, John Pace!
