THE PHILLIP ISLAND EIGHT HOUR - PIT LANE PAGE 3:
Just over one hour remaining in the Eight Hour, mind you I
developed a great interest in Australian Motorcycle Endurance Racing over many
years, of course that was on a staple diet of two, three, four and six hour
events. This Eight Hour was new territory for me and with seven hours gone, I
loved it!

#1: SUZUKI GSXR1000 - TEAM SUZUKI: (Pitted at
4.24pm) Another excellent fuel stop and again I note the excellent
flame retardant refueller's outfit. Rider, Troy Herfoss still gave me shudders with the neck
exercises. |
|
|
#58: SUZUKI GSXR600 - TEAM DREAMERS: (Pitted at
4.27pm) This team managed to get under my radar for most of the day, one
obvious lack of trouble for a Suzuki was the rearsets, the 'Kaneg' units
seemed to hold up very well and they looked cool to boot! |
|
|
#330: YAMAHA YZFR1 - FNQ LAGER: (Pitted at
4.44pm) A refuel, tyres and chain adjustment were on the menu. The riders,
like all the other teams, an excellent effort. |
|
|
#68: KAWASAKI ZX600 - WNR KAWASAKI: (Pitted at
4.57pm) A refuel, another look at the array of cable ties holding the lower
fairing together and rider, Glenn Scott, for mine he won the helmet design
award. |
|
#1: SUZUKI GSXR1000 - TEAM SUZUKI: (Pitted at
5.04pm) The final fuel stop and rider change for the Team Suzuki GSXR1000,
excellent team work in
every department. Appropriately pole winner and Le Mans starting
rider Josh Waters completed the final race duties to take the chequered
flag. |
