ORAN PARK - MEMORIES: I had to attend the final motorcycle meeting at Oran Park, as stated elsewhere I had not been back to 'Oran' since 1980, however two of the race meetings I attended there remain very clear in my mind to this day. The first was when Giacomo Agostini came to Australia for the first time and at the Oran Park round of a three round series a certain Bryan Hindle (Yamaha) won the 350cc event from Ago (MV Agusta), the second was the 1980 Coca Cola 800 which I still consider an iconic event in Australia's Motorcycle History. ORAN PARK - NOVEMBER 2009: Taking into account a twenty nine year attendance gap, Oran Park still offered me great views of the circuit from 'the hill' and 'pit areas', the most welcome aspect was the fully padded coverage of that concrete wall!! The least welcome, 'in your face' views of the Narellan Town Centre/Oran Park Town, Redevelopment, I expected to see some clearing works in the distance, not houses being built literally at the edge of the circuit! The following images depict overviews of the circuit and redevelopment....
