AMAROO PARK - MEMORIES: Surviving the Sydney NSW sprawl from 1967~1998 was no mean feat, pressure came belatedly from residents, noise abatement and traffic congestion. I have very fond memories of the circuit and from a spectator's perspective Amaroo offered brilliant tight racing in a natural amphitheatre. I spectated on Bitupave, Stop Corner and spent many a great moment frequenting the pit row watching particularly Castrol Six Hour activities. Put simply the best little circuit I ever attended and the like of it will probably never be built again. In 2008 I visited ' No.233-Amaroo Park', sadly unrecognisable, some great looking small acre houses exist, but I instantly recalled some great times, the most cherished was the 1970 and 1971 Castrol Six Hour races where Bryan Hindle co-rode with different team mates, (Len Atlee and Clive Knight respectively) to win the race. To watch Bryan, such a diminutive man, hurl the then monstrous Honda CB750 over the top of Bitupave, just huge!!
AMAROO PARK - NOVEMBER 2008: So different...............
AMAROO PARK - REMEMBERED: A few images of the overall circuit recorded during my many visits to the Annangrove circuit. There is one constant to the vast majority of these images, SPECTATORS!!! Amaroo had it all and now its long gone........
