Yamaha' 50th Year of GP Celebrations: Yamaha celebrated their 50th Anniversary of World Championship Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing with style at the TT, Ferry Brouwer brought his magnificent collection of Yamaha GP Machines, 'The Yamaha Classic Racing Team', to the TT and many were ridden in the Yamaha Parade Lap by GP riders including Giacomo Agostini, Steve Baker, Rod Gould and Phil Read MBE.

PHIL READ MBE AND THE 1965 YAMAHA 250cc RD56: I was delighted to meet Phil at the Yamaha Display, this is the original factory 250cc motorcycle that Phil used to win the 1965 250cc World Motorcycle Championship, the machines specifications included a 248.74cc air cooled parallel two stroke twin producing over 50bhp @ 11,000rpm, a dry clutch and a seven speed transmission.
