THE GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED 2011:
The world’s largest car event in the heart of Sussex, England.
Magnificent, cars, motorcycles, hill climb events, rallying and critically a
celebration of all things Indy Cars and the 50th Anniversary of the E-Type
Jaguar.

GASOLINE ALLEY, THE INDY CARS:
A landmark event
for 2011, a celebration of the Indianapolis 500, the brickyard.
The celebrations included the laying of bricks from the brickyard
at the Goodwood Festival of Speed start line, the obligatory Gasoline Alley and
a massive array of Indy cars and drivers, some cars were on display, most
competed on the Goodwood Hill Climb.

THE HILL CLIMB
AND PARADE LAP:
A massive variety
of two, three, four and six wheeled vehicles attacked the Goodwood Hill Climb,
some at a moderate pace, some with the obligatory burn outs
and donuts along the way and some
flat out!
Numerous vehicles
were obviously treating the Hill Climb as a Parade Lap, however it was difficult
at times to determine if some drivers had been overcome by the
proverbial red mist as their speed and
cornering ability was brave to state the least.

AUTO UNION AND AUDI:
I was very
impressed with the Auto Union and Audi
cars that were displayed and driven throughout the weekend. Magnificent
engineering and the quality of the exhibits was second to none.

THE FOREST RALLY

Amazing, the
course was a real challenge for all competitors, the angles some of the cars
achieved and the jumps, top action.

THE BUGGIES:
Amazingly fast,
the buggies had a dedicated circuit for the weekend. The circuit was well laid
out with numerous berms and jumps.

ATMOSPHERE:
Rampant at
Goodwood, everything to do with Motorsport was on show, the cars, motorcycles,
aircraft, trade displays, fun parks, rides, it was seemingly endless and I was
there for the four days.
