The 2009 TT:
For 2009 I hoped for greater involvement by Honda, particularly direct factory
support of engines for HM Plant and all the other major Honda powered teams.
Honda did very well, taking the first five places in the Superbike TT, Superstock
TT and the Supersport TT (Race 1), they also took the Senior TT with 1st and 3rd
placings, this after John McGuinness with a huge lead over eventual winner Steve
Plater had chain failure and was forced out.
SUPERBIKE RACE: John McGuinness won the first race of
the TT. A brilliant result for Honda and the HM Plant team took first and
second. Ago and Vale were very gracious in their acknowledgement of the winners,
top marks to Vale especially, a thoroughly professional young man on his first
visit to the TT.

SENIOR TT RACE: John McGuinness
was certainly the man to beat and well into the race he held a huge lead over
Steve Plater riding the second HM Plant Honda, incredibly John's chain broke forcing
him to retire, Guy Martin's machine suffered a similar fate, at least Guy's
chain broke on the Pit Apron, unlike John's which occurred whilst racing.

PEOPLE I MET THIS YEAR: Marvellous attitude, so many
Stars past and present are all so approachable at the TT. I was delighted to
meet Roger Marshall and had a few great moments with Tony Jefferies getting David's
book signed, great stuff and a great read.

PIT AREA - NORTON: The machinery looked
brilliant but the reliability wasn't quite there for Michael Dunlop (yet). A
marvellous sound, marvellous looking and such a refreshing change from the
constant stream of UJM4 based machinery at the TT.

NOBLES PARK - NORTON: With respect, I anticipated Honda
would occupy the Nobles Park Building, as Ducati did for their 50th Anniversary
in 2008. Incredibly Norton not only had the Rotary TT Racer in the Pits but some
great machinery on display at Nobles.
