PAN PACIFIC GAMES, GOLD COAST, 2012: ARCHERY - FIELD:
I love Archery, the link to the Long Bow and the Tales of Robin Hood, Nottingham
and Sherwood Forest are of great interest to me. The Archery - Field was the
first 'PanPac' Event I attended and the Sport, or more critically the
Competitors and their willingness to share their knowledge and time was
marvellous.
ARCHERY TECHNOLOGY:
I was amazed at the technology in modern Archery, the materials used and the
sights were of particular interest.
SIGHTS:
BOWS AND ARROWS:
ARCHERY COMPETITION:
I accompanied one team
of four Bowmen throughout their first shoot of the Event. Given their accuracy I
ensured all my photography was 'over the shoulder' of each Competitor! One
Bowman was appointed to determine the arrow locations on the targets and tow
other Bowmen were appointed to record the scores on duplicate score sheets.
